Share Trustee Services - Investment Funds
An investment fund which is structured as a company will generally be required to issue at least one class of shares which has voting rights. The voting rights can attach to the shares issued to investors; alternatively, the voting rights can attach to a class of voting but economically non-participating shares issued to the manager.
Where neither the manager nor the investors wish to hold the voting shares - either for accounting or for governance reasons - the voting shares may instead be held on trust.
Maples Fiduciary has the relevant licenses and specialist professionals that allow us to hold the voting shares of a fund on trust. We are able to offer this service through either our Cayman or Irish offices.
