Alasdair serves as Chairman and a director of MaplesFS. He is also partner and global head of Maples and Calder's finance practice group.
Alasdair joined Maples and Calder in Hong Kong in 1999. He moved to the Cayman Islands office in 2001 and was elected as a partner in 2004. Alasdair's practice focuses on structured finance, structured investment funds, derivatives, funds finance and corporate finance. He also advises on financial regulatory issues. He previously worked for Clifford Chance in London and Hong Kong. Alasdair is recommended by the PLC Which Lawyer? Yearbook, Chambers Global, Legal 500 and IFLR1000.
Alasdair graduated in law from Edinburgh University, Scotland with honours.
Alasdair is President of the Cayman Islands Law Society.
